About Perfect Pet Dog Training

Perfect Pet Dog Training, LLC provides professional, customized training programs for all dog breeds while strengthening the bond between families and their pets. We offer private lessons, day training and behavior modification training in Gaston County, Lincoln County, York County, South Charlotte and surrounding areas. We also offer group classes, daycare training and other programs at our facility in Gastonia.

We like to begin our program for each new dog with a phone call, so we can discuss your needs. We will then follow up with a visit so we can evaluate your dog in person. During this evaluation, we will also meet with you to develop the most appropriate training program for you and your dog. We utilize positive reinforcement training methods in all of our programs. The evaluation is free, and we have had fantastic results with our personalized programs.

Alison Pennington – Owner / Certified Professional Trainer

Alison Pennington is the owner and trainer at Perfect Pet Dog Training, LLC. She is a graduate of Elon University’s School of Communications. For five years after graduating from Elon University, she spent much of her free time volunteering at local shelters and rescues. Working with dogs was always a passion for Alison, so she decided to make training her fulltime career.

Alison became certified in on and off leash obedience and canine behavior modification in 2009. After graduating from Trainer School, Alison was hired as a Trainer, covering the Charlotte metro area. She began with private lessons, moving into group and in home training programs, and then in kennel training. Alison became interested in Therapy dogs and became a Certified Therapy Dog Trainer. She was involved in starting a local Therapy Dog Club in the Charlotte area. During this time she trained and assisted many of the TDC members on their visits to local nursing homes and schools.

Alison is a current member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, a certified American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator, AKC STAR Puppy evaluator and certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. She attends as many conferences and continuing education programs as she can, to help her provide the most up to date training regimens possible. Samantha Spagnoletti – Professional Trainer / Daycare Supervisor

Samantha Spagnoletti is both a trainer and daycare attendant for Perfect Pet Dog Training. She currently teaches group classes, conducts private training lessons, and works with the daycare dogs.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Sam has always been an animal lover. Her childhood was filled with dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, fish, snails, and hermit crabs, and, much to her parents’ chagrin, she was constantly finding new animals to rescue (especially homeless cats and injured baby birds). A career with animals has been her dream her entire life.

Sam attended Robert Morris University in her hometown before moving four hours away to the Washington, D.C. metro area immediately after college. There she spent a year before finally settling down in Charlotte, NC in 2015. While living in D.C., Sam adopted her first puppy, a timid shepherd-mix named Cali. Working with Cali sparked her passion for dog training, especially with fearful dogs, and she has been training ever since.

Sam currently lives in Charlotte with her two dogs, Cali and Bear, and two cats, Bradley and Harris. She is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and has recently been accepted into the Dog Training Professional program at the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior. She also plans to continue her education throughout her career by attending conferences, workshops, and classes run by other modern, force-free trainers.

Sam can be reached at 412.992.6071 or samantha@perfectpetdog.com.
